What
Surfaces and Material
Can We Work With?
Composite Decking (Trex, Azek, Fiberon, etc.)
We use a proven soft wash method and controlled bleach mix to remove mold, mildew, and organic buildup from your composite deck. Normally, we’ll let the solution sit for 5-10 minutes before performing a low-pressure rinse (under 1,000 PSI).
If you have a first-generation Trex deck, it might experience slight color changes.
Wood Decking
(Pressure-Treated Pine, Cedar, Redwood, etc.)
For wooden decks, we use a three-step cleaning process:
– First, we pre-wet and cover plants.
– Next, we bleach wash to eliminate algae, mold, and mildew.
– Then, we use oxalic acid to restore natural wood color.
If necessary, we’ll perform caustic stripping, using sodium metasilicate to deep clean heavily stained or aged wood.
For liability reasons, we avoid cleaning rotting or structurally unsafe decks.

Application of Cleaning Solution
Cleaning will vary depending on the nature of your deck. If it’s a composite deck, we’ll use a soft wash method, relying on a controlled bleach mix and low-pressure rinsing.
Wooden decks tend to require extra treatment which is why we bleach wash them to remove organic buildup and apply an oxalic acid brightener. We’ll also perform caustic tripping if necessary.
